Brief description of the organisation |
The University of Bucharest is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Romania. The Hydrogeology group of the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics focuses its research in ground water monitoring using GIS mapping, hydrodynamic testing of aquifers, numerical models for multiphase flow (quality of groundwater, hydrogeological conditions in the site of surface radioactive waste disposal, impact of oil industry on the groundwater quality).
Role in MUSTANG
The group will be responsible for:
Romanian (Valcele) test-site investigation (field test, analysis, data interpretation)
Field characterization (Romanian test-site),
Geospatial database design;
Decision Support System development: a geospatial decision and management
system that will integrate numerical models and the GIS spatial database
supported datasets.
Project results dissemination to Stakeholders, Decision makers, polluters at the local and country (Romania) level.
Interactions with the Romanian end-user.
